The 2020 Media Award of Research Council Faroe Islands has been handed to Mr Debes Hammershaimb Christiansen, Head of the Pathological Department at the Faroese Food and Veterinary Authority. The award was given for his innovative foresight in laying the foundation for the successful Faroese Covid-19 testing system20 media award.
The adjudication committee voted unanimously for Mr Christiansen as the winner, praisingnot only his crucial role in the fight against the corona virus but also his generous sharing of his vast knowledge on the subject in Faroese and international media.
