Nine Research Projects Funded

Nine research projects have been granted a total of 8 MDKK from the Faroese Research Foundation. Half the funding has been given to PhD projects.

The Research Council received 32 applications in total, applying for 25 MDKK, at the annual deadline in February.

The projects receiving the highest grants were:

Knút Háberg Eysturstein received 1 MDKK for a PhD project at the Faculty of Education, University of the Faroe Islands, with the title: The Concept of the Faroese in Music Education - negotiating identity and notions of tradition

Jens Chr. Svabo Justinussen received 1 MDKK for a PhD project at the Faculty of History and Social Sciences, University of the Faroe Islands, with the title: Resiliance and Governance during the COVID-19 Pandemic in the Faroes - a detailed study of crisis management and organisation at a municipial level

Sunnvør í Kongsstovu received 1MDKK for a project at the Faculty of Science and Technology, University of the Faroe Islands, with the title: Initiation of the Genome Atlas of Faroese Ecology
